About Tanalised Treated Pine
Tanalised treated pine is safe to use when handled and used in accordance with the appropriate precautions. The preservative treatment is designed to protect the timber against insects and fungi and, once fixed within the dried timber, does not present a hazard to people under normal conditions of use when common-sense handling precautions are followed.
Occasionally, a white powder may appear on the surface of treated timber. This is generally a harmless salt deposit, such as sodium sulphate, associated with the treatment process. If required, it can simply be brushed or hosed off before use.
As with all treated timber, appropriate safety precautions should be followed when cutting, sanding or working with the product.
Timber is a natural product and variations in colour, grain, knots, surface appearance and treatment colour are normal.
