Malthoid is a 2 ply felt material that is infused with bitumen and covered in a fine sand to prevent sticking when rolled. It is used for waterproofing on flat roofs, dampcourse on brick and block walls. It can also be used under corrugated iron water tanks to prevent condensation corrosion.
